Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman Akash Ambani recently
spoke about his biggest source of inspiration—his father, Mukesh Ambani—at
Mumbai Tech Week. In a conversation with Harsh Jain, CEO of Dream
Sports, Akash shared how growing up in a close-knit family shaped his values,
ambition, and work ethic.
Mukesh Ambani’s Commitment to Work
Akash revealed that even after four decades in business,
Mukesh Ambani remains dedicated to his work, clearing every email until 2 AM.
"Till date, my father clears each and every email
that is sent to him, and he does it till 2 am at night. He’s working in the
fourth decade of his professional life. That’s where the inspiration really
comes from," Akash said.
Nita Ambani’s Eye for Detail
Akash also spoke about his mother, Nita Ambani, and
her incredible attention to detail, especially in areas they share a
passion for, like cricket.
"My mom, very, very similarly, will be watching the
same thing we share a joint passion for, but the small little details she
notices are something that you can draw inspiration from. Her dedication and
passion are truly inspiring," he added.
Beyond a 12-Hour Workday
During a rapid-fire round, Akash was asked whether he
would prefer working 8 AM to 5 PM or 5 PM to 8 AM. In response, he said
that his work extends well beyond 12 hours, and he expressed gratitude
to his wife, Shloka Mehta, for supporting his demanding schedule.
The event was held at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai,
where Akash attended alongside his wife and twin sister, Isha Ambani.
His insights provided a glimpse into Mukesh Ambani’s relentless work ethic
and the values that drive the Ambani family forward.
