Actor and filmmaker Kangana Ranaut recently received
a thoughtful gift—a Kanjeevaram silk saree—and a touching letter from a
fan who appreciated her latest film Emergency. Taking to her Instagram
Stories, Kangana expressed heartfelt gratitude and remarked that the gesture
was “so much better than getting useless trophies.”
A Gift Wrapped in Appreciation
The letter was sent by LN Nithyanantham, the director
of the Jai Shri Ram Council, who praised Kangana’s bold take on a controversial
chapter of Indian history. In the note, he wrote:
“I recently had the opportunity to watch your film, Emergency,
and I must say I was truly impressed. Even though certain aspects may have been
censored or downplayed, what was shown was more than enough to convey the
gravity of that dark period in history.”
He further lauded Kangana's performance as Indira Gandhi,
saying,
“I sincerely believe no one else could have done justice to
this role the way you did.”
As a token of admiration, he gifted her a Kanjeevaram
silk saree, describing it as a “symbol of gratitude and respect.”
Kangana’s Response
Sharing a photo of the letter and the gift on Instagram,
Kangana wrote:
“This is so wonderful. I got a stunning weave sari for
making #Emergency... so much better than getting useless trophies 🐵🙈🙉.”
She also highlighted another part of the fan’s letter that
read:
“Your fearless storytelling has the power to reshape
political perceptions, and I deeply admire your conviction in bringing the
important chapter of history to light.”
