In a shocking turn of events, new details have surfaced in
the Meerut murder case, where Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla are
accused of murdering Muskan’s husband, Saurabh Rajput. The duo, who allegedly stabbed
Saurabh to death on March 4, then dismembered his body and sealed it in a
cement-filled drum, reportedly traveled to Kasol, Himachal Pradesh, for six
days in an attempt to evade suspicion.
Kasol Hotel Staff Raises Suspicion
According to hotel operator Aman Kumar, Muskan and
Sahil checked into a hotel in Kasol on March 10, posing as a married
couple. During their six-day stay, the pair exhibited unusual behavior—staying
indoors in room no. 203 most of the time, only venturing out once a day
in their car.
“They barely interacted with the hotel staff and did not
allow housekeeping to clean the room,” said Aman Kumar. Upon checkout on March
16, the couple informed the staff that they had traveled from Manali and
were heading back to Uttar Pradesh.
Murder Was Planned Since November 2023
Meerut SP City Ayush Vikram Singh revealed that
Muskan had been plotting her husband’s murder since November 2023.
Investigators also uncovered that Sahil, who is highly superstitious, was
manipulated by Muskan using a fake Snapchat ID where she
impersonated Sahil’s deceased mother to influence him.
Family Accuses Muskan’s Parents of Concealing the Crime
Meanwhile, Saurabh’s family has accused Muskan’s parents of
having prior knowledge of the crime before the police were informed on March
18. Saurabh’s mother, Renu Devi, dismissed claims by Muskan’s
parents that they were unaware of the murder, alleging that they were trying
to mislead the investigation.
"The truth is that Muskan’s mother knew about the
crime before March 18. They went to the police station only to save
themselves from legal action," she told PTI.
Currently, Muskan and Sahil are in judicial custody,
and the investigation into the chilling murder case continues.
