Meerut: The shocking murder of Merchant Navy officer
Saurabh Rajput has taken a new turn, with his mother, Renu Devi,
alleging that her six-year-old granddaughter knew about the crime. She also
claimed that the parents of accused Muskan Rastogi were aware of the
murder but remained silent out of fear of legal repercussions.
A Chilling Revelation: 'Papa is in the Drum'
According to Renu Devi, her granddaughter had reportedly
made a disturbing statement:
"Papa is in the drum."
She believes this suggests that the child was aware of the
gruesome act. However, SP City Ayush Vikram Singh dismissed the claim,
stating that the girl may have overheard Muskan narrating the incident
to family members but had no prior knowledge of the murder.
The Brutal Crime: A Pre-Planned Murder
Saurabh Rajput was allegedly murdered by his wife, Muskan
Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla, on March 4. According
to the police investigation, the couple stabbed Saurabh to death,
chopped his body into pieces, and then sealed the remains inside a drum with
cement.
Muskan's parents were reportedly informed about the crime
on March 18, after which they took her to the police station. However,
Saurabh’s mother accused them of knowing about the murder much earlier and only
reporting it to protect themselves from legal action.
A Sinister Manipulation
Investigations revealed that Muskan had been planning her
husband’s murder since November 2023. She allegedly manipulated Sahil by
convincing him that his deceased mother’s spirit wanted him to kill Saurabh.
To achieve this, she:
- Created
a fake Snapchat ID under her brother’s name.
- Pretended
that Sahil’s late mother was communicating through it.
- Brainwashed
Sahil into believing that his mother wanted Saurabh dead.
Meticulous Planning and Execution
Police reports state that Muskan purchased knives and
sedatives in advance, using the excuse that she needed them for cooking.
Before Saurabh returned from London in February, she also tried to find
an isolated location to dispose of his body.
She allegedly knew that his family wouldn’t search for
him immediately after his disappearance, as they had been estranged for the
past two years.
Aftermath and Investigation
Muskan was arrested and sent to jail, where she reportedly spent
the first night crying and refused to eat. The police are continuing their detailed
investigation into the case, including Muskan’s parents' potential
involvement.
The case has left the Rajput family devastated, with
many unanswered questions about the extent of Muskan’s deception and
planning.
