On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, the makers
of Peddi unveiled the much-anticipated first glimpse of the Ram
Charan and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer, leaving fans buzzing with excitement.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana of Uppena fame, Peddi promises
a rustic action drama with Ram Charan in a never-seen-before avatar.
A Power-Packed Glimpse
Titled "Peddi First Shot," the 1-minute
teaser was released in all South Indian languages along with Hindi. It opens
with a dramatic scene of Ram Charan stepping onto a dusty playground, greeted
by loud cheers. With a beedi in his mouth and fire in his eyes, Charan delivers
a powerful line:
“Edaina ee nela mida unnapude seseyala” (I must do whatever I want as
long as I'm alive).
The teaser hints at a gripping storyline involving cricket,
as it ends with a stunning shot of Charan hitting the ball out of the park.
With raw intensity, rustic charm, and emotional depth, the glimpse has only
heightened anticipation for the film’s release on March 27, 2026.
Ram Charan’s 16th Film – RC16
Peddi marks Ram Charan’s 16th film, and the
actor seems to be diving deep into character. On his 40th birthday, the
team revealed the film’s title and two posters. One shows him in an intense
close-up while smoking a beedi, and another features him wielding a cricket
bat, with a scarred face and rugged appearance. While some drew parallels with
Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, fans reminded critics that Charan had already portrayed a
rural character in Rangasthalam (2018), a performance still praised to
this day.
Star-Studded Cast and Crew
The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Janhvi
Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi
Babu in key roles. This will be Janhvi’s second Telugu film after Devara:
Part 1, while it marks Divyendu’s Tollywood debut.
Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru, Peddi is
being presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings.
Music maestro AR Rahman is composing the soundtrack, and R Rathnavelu
is handling cinematography. The film went on floors in Hyderabad last
year, with shooting currently underway.
Ram Charan’s Recent Journey
Ram Charan’s filmography has seen its share of highs and
lows. After the global success of RRR (2022), his subsequent films like Acharya
and Game Changer didn’t fare well at the box office, much to fans’
disappointment. However, with Peddi, Charan seems to be returning to his
roots — intense, character-driven roles that showcase his versatility.
The actor has also signed another project with director Sukumar,
rekindling the hit Rangasthalam partnership, and fans are hopeful for
cinematic magic once again.
Final Word
With a promising glimpse, a solid creative team, and a
gripping storyline teased through cricket and rural drama, Peddi is
shaping up to be one of Telugu cinema’s biggest releases of 2026.
