Salman Khan's Hilarious Take on Nepotism, Mentions Kangana Ranaut in Jest

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is in full promotion mode for his upcoming film, Sikandar. During a media interaction in Mumbai on Wednesday, the actor opened up about nepotism, the concept of being 'self-made,' and even had a cheeky reference to Kangana Ranaut.

Salman Khan on Nepotism: 'Nobody is Self-Made'

When asked about his journey as a 'self-made' star, Salman dismissed the term altogether.

"Nobody in this world is self-made. I don't believe in that. It's all teamwork. Had my father not come to Mumbai from Indore, I would have been farming there. It was his decision that paved the way for me."

He further elaborated that while he could have chosen a different path, he decided to follow in his father Salim Khan's footsteps and stay in the film industry.

"People bring new terms for all this, like that thing all of you use a lot – nepotism. I love it."

Salman's Fun Dig at Kangana Ranaut

During the conversation, when a journalist mentioned Raveena Tandon's daughter entering Bollywood, Salman misheard it as Kangana Ranaut’s daughter and reacted in surprise:

"Kangana ki beti aa rahi hain (Kangana's daughter is coming)?!"

When the journalists clarified the mix-up, Salman, with his trademark humor, quipped:

"Ab Kangana ki beti aayengi, toh films karengi ya politics join karengi? (When Kangana’s daughter comes, will she do films or join politics?)"

As the journalists shouted "nepotism," Salman laughed and said:

"Yeah, she or he will have to do something else."

Sikandar Set for Eid Release

Salman wrapped up the event by urging fans to watch Sikandar, which hits theaters on May 30, Eid. He also mentioned other big releases coming out on the same day, including Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan and Sunny Deol's Jaat, hoping all films perform well.

"I hope people get good Eid bonuses so they can watch Sikandar, Mohanlal sir’s L2: Empuraan, and also Sunny Deol’s new film Jaat. Three big stars, three big films – I hope all work!"

Sikandar stars Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi alongside Salman Khan and promises to be an action-packed entertainer.
