Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma Plan Move to London: Want a Normal Life for Their Kids

Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma are planning to shift their base to London to raise their children, away from the constant media glare in India, sources close to the family have confirmed.

The celebrity couple, who welcomed their second child, son Akaay, in February 2024, have been frequently spotted in London in recent months, sparking speculation about a permanent move. Now, recent comments from Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma and Madhuri Dixit's husband, Dr. Sriram Nene, have shed light on their decision.

Reason Behind the Move

Speaking to Dainik Jagran, Rajkumar Sharma said, "Yes, Virat plans to move to London with his children and wife, Anushka Sharma. He is going to be leaving India and shifting very soon. However, right now, Kohli is spending most of his time with his family apart from cricket."

Meanwhile, Dr. Sriram Nene further confirmed the couple’s plans during a conversation with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia.
Sharing his admiration for the couple, he said, "We’ve met Virat and Anushka multiple times. They are just decent human beings." Dr. Nene revealed, "We had a conversation with Anushka one day, and it was very interesting. They were thinking about moving to London because they can't enjoy their success here. Anything they do attracts attention. They just want to raise their kids normally."

He added, "We understand what they are going through — it’s very isolating at times."

The couple’s desire to give Vamika (born in 2021) and Akaay a more "normal" upbringing, away from constant paparazzi attention, seems to be the driving force behind the move.

Virat’s Current Cricketing Form

Even as discussions about his personal life are swirling, Virat Kohli continues to deliver stunning performances on the field.
Playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2025 season, Kohli has amassed 392 runs in nine matches, including five half-centuries, and currently holds the second spot in the Orange Cap race.

RCB, riding high on his consistent performances, are placed third in the points table with 12 points from 9 matches. They are set to face Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday, April 27.

A New Chapter

Virat and Anushka, who married in a fairytale wedding ceremony in Italy in December 2017, have always maintained a strong sense of privacy around their personal lives.
By choosing London, they hope to offer their children an environment where they can grow up without being constantly under public scrutiny — a luxury often unavailable to celebrity families in India.

As Kohli’s cricket career continues to flourish and Anushka slowly steps back from frequent acting projects, the move signals a shift in priorities for the couple — from professional achievements to personal peace.

Fans around the world are now watching closely, supporting them as they embark on this new and quieter chapter of their life.
